Everyone likes the idea of having their own soho business, but most people wonder if it is something that they can really do. Can you really make money working at home? The idea can be extremely intimidating. There are so many what ifs. What if I choose the wrong business? What if I don't have the self discipline. What if I don't get customers? What if I fail?

1. First of all, you can do anything you put your mind to. So, you do have to decide to do it, you have to be determined and you have to be clear that this is what you want to do.

2. Secondly, to find the right soho business you just need to do a little research. Find out about the company you are looking into. How long have they been in business? What kind of compensation plan do they have? What kind of support is offered by the company. Talk to others who are in the business.

3. The third thing I want to talk about is self discipline. This is the reason you have to make up your mind about your soho business. Treat it like a "regular job". Make a plan as to what you are going to do each day and stick to it. With the right soho business you should be able to work with others in your group to help you design a daily or weekly plan that will work for you.

4. This brings us to customers. There are many options when you want to attract customers to your soho business. There are many old school methods such as flyers, signs, ads, and leads, but these can become very expensive and time consuming for such a small return. So far the best way I have found to get customers is to buy them.

I don't have to buy leads or ads or run around putting flyers on cars and then wait for the calls to come in. Calls from people who may be serious or not and then spend a bunch of time convincing them that what I have they need. Not that there is anything wrong with that method, but it is so much easier to simply buy a customer who is already buying the product I want to market to them and make money off of what ever they are buying.

If you have a network marketing business, you have probably put a lot of thought and likely a lot of cold hard cash into finding prospects to tout your business to. The goal of course is to get customers and recruit new people into your downline. What avenues did you go down to try to build your business?

I have, in the past, spent many hours passing these out. I've gone from parking lot to parking lot putting flyers on cars, on office doors and other conspicuous places. They did do their job as far as getting me people to talk to. I got calls. People were interested in what I was pushing, but the problem was in order to get them interested I had to mislead them a bit with flyer titles like "We pay you to lose weight!". It was true we did offer insentives by the pound but in reality the calls mostly came from folks who had no money to begin with and actually thought we were some lab using experimental products that were guaranteed to lose weight while they got paid. Instead, we were involved with an MLM company that offered weight loss products that we were trying to sell. The more I called the more confident I got but those calls were still basically cold calls and you have to put out an incredible amount of flyers to get a few calls.

I also tried Signs. I put them out. A lot of Nevada is solid rock but still I went around pounding signs into the ground, hanging them on fences and any place else I thought looked good. I Don't really think those did even as well as the flyers.

This is my personal review of FHTM. I am not now nor have I ever been involved in FHTM. This review is based solely on research I have done using Google to search for information on this MLM company.

FHTM began in 2001 and since then FHTM leads the industry in products and services to support you in your quest for financial independence. For those with and without experience this company seems too be a great opportunity. In any MLM home based business a person must be aware of and be ready to rise to and above the challenges ahead.

I believe the first challenge is getting over the idea that MLM is evil and all MLM companies are pyramid scams or schemes. I mean if you take a look at your current situation what ever job you are currently working there is probably a person sitting way up on top and a bunch of people below him/her kind of in the same shape of this so called pyramid and the guys on top are making all the money and you as well as most of your co workers are struggling no matter how hard you work. That to me is the major difference, if you would put in as much time, energy and effort into MLM I believe success must follow. Not usually so in the 9-5 work arena.

The second challenge is that you need to do your research and decide which MLM is right for you. I don't necessarily believe most of them differ drastically. The best fit is probably the company with the products you are interested in. If you try them and you like them it is much easier to interest customers. Is there enough support? Are they going to drop you like a hot potato once you've signed the check. Is the compensation plan going to work for you.

The third challenge would probably be self discipline. In order to succeed you will generally have to work it like a "real job" when you first get started. That can be an issue for many people because, rather then having a defined set of tasks to accomplish each day/week in order to avoid disciplinary action or even losing that job, you have depend on self discipline and lets face it, self discipline is not always easy, other wise I imagine we would have all accomplished that which we are now attempting to achieve. Depending on your age of course.

Once you have found a company you like, tried the products, found your support, and made the decision to get down to business, The last challenge is how are you going to get the customers? There are many options. I have listed a few of them here.

� Is the company financially stable?
� Is the company making plans for expansion?
� Are the products and the services what people need and want?
� What is the earning potential? Is it unlimited?
� Does the business provide training, leadership and encourage teamwork?
� How long has the company been around and is it a simple and proven business that anyone can develop successfully?

Once you find a company that appeals to you. One question most network marketers have is how to build the business.

Most of the time this is just not the case. When you get your list of prospects and with all your enthusiasm begin to call these leads you find that most of them are not so excited to talk to you as a matter of fact some of them are down right irritated that you are one of many of the folks that with that same excitement and enthusiasm called them off of a list from the same company or another company gathering these names in the same way. You really don't know what you are getting when it comes to leads. It is not always the lead companies fault either, although I would bet many times it is, a lot of these "potential buyers" may be filling out multiple forms on the Internet to get this free bee or that. What about the more expensive leads? Even if you pay the big bucks for the more targeted leads only a very small percentage of them are more then just curious. So in the end you have spent a load of money for miniscule results.

If you have a network marketing business, like FHTM, you have probably put a lot of thought and likely a lot of cold hard cash into finding prospects to tout your business to. The goal of course is to get customers and recruit new people into your down line. What avenues did you go down to try to build your business?

Flyers or sizzle cards for Leads

I have, in the past, spent many hours passing these out. I've gone from parking lot to parking lot putting flyers on cars, on office doors. Either way they did do their job as far as getting me people to talk to. I got calls. People were interested in what I was pushing but the problem was in order to get them interested I had to mislead them a bit with flyer titles like "We pay you to lose weight!". It was true we did offer incentives by the pound but in reality the calls mostly came from folks who had no money to begin with and actually thought we were some lab using experimental products that were guaranteed to lose weight. Instead we were involved with an MLM company that offered weight loss products that we were trying to sell. The more I called the more confident I got but those calls were still basically cold calls and you have to put out a huge amount to get a few calls.

Post Signs for Leads

I also tried Signs. I put them out. A lot of Nevada seems to be solid rock but still I went around pounding signs into the ground, hanging them on fences and any place else I thought looked good. I Don't really think those did even as well as the flyers.

Car signs. Yes we had one. We had it stickered to the our back windshield. Great big and bold. I think we got one call from that.

Business cards for Leads

I went around to a lot of local businesses and requested that they let us put our cards in their stores. Many of them did. We hardly received enough of a response on that to even mention it, but here it is.

Yes, I wore the button. The big white button with the words " Lose weight now ask me how!" I don't think I ever had anyone ask but I can imagine what they were thinking!

This at first glance appears to be the easiest. The idea is you buy leads from a lead company. These are supposed to be targeted. Targeted to what your doing. They are already looking for a working at home business or looking for the products that you are selling. Sounds great right? You will call these leads and the person on the other end will be begging to join your business and buy your products. Unfortunately, this is usually not the case, not even close. Many of the calls go bad from the get-go. They have been put on a list and have been called so many times, they will want nothing to do with you or your business. Some of them simply filled out a form to get some free thing or another and without even realizing it they were added to a list and then sold to you and maybe others. Even if they are looking at a work at home business or some nutritional products you still have to sell them on what you've got. No matter how many times your upline says the products sell themselves, nothing actually sells itself.

So what else is there? How else can you get customers? How can you get results without all the fuss and muss? You can buy your customers. That is what I do. I buy my customers now.

This is is a review of FHTM based solely on my search on the Internet using Google. FHTM appears to be a leading company in the MLM business. FHTM offers extensive support mixed with some top of the line products and services and a compensation plan that many of their representatives are raving about. The first time I thought about working at home was about 13 years ago. I had a new baby who was going through some difficulties but I really did not have great expectations for what I would make. One of the most popular seems to be purchasing leads from a lead generating company. At first glance, this appears to be a quick way to get potential customers on the phone. The first step is to figure out where and who you're going to purchase your leads from. You can do a quick Google search and you will see picking a company can be difficult. There are so many companies selling leads. How do you know what you are getting into? Well, you don't. Leads tend to be expensive, the contacts are often not who they are supposed to be and not someone who is actually chomping at the bit to get your call and join your opportunity as they will sometimes insinuate, but instead, someone who is annoyed by all the calls they have been receiving and by the time you talk to them they want nothing to do with you or your opportunity. I don't buy leads. I buy customers. Why should I buy leads and try to weed through to find someone who may or may not be interested in what I have to offer?
